Oakleaf Mennonite Farm CSA (a mission of Berea Mennonite Church)
Shareholder Options and Agreement

A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) initiative is, in part, a commitment between a farm and its shareholders. We, here at Oakleaf Mennonite Farm, commit to working hard to provide each shareholder with a variety of the freshest and healthiest produce we can grow using the most sustainable methods available. By signing this agreement, you, as a shareholder, commit to supporting vegetable production with your timely payments and showing up each designated week to collect and enjoy the vegetable harvests. Our hope is that, by aspiring to the spirit of these commitments, we can create a farm/shareholder relationship that gives life to everyone.

Shareholder Agreement:
Shareholders agree to pick up produce at one of the agreed upon places and times. If produce is not picked up and prior arrangements have not been made, that week’s share will be dispersed.
Shareholders agree to share in the risk that farms experience and may be asked, at times, to accept smaller quantities or limited varieties due to weather or predator interference. Shareholders also agree that the resolution of any disputes or claims that arise from participation will be first presented to a mediation service and then to final and binding arbitration before a neutral party instead of in a court by a judge or jury. The choice of a neutral party will be determined by Berea Mennonite Church, the costs shared by both parties.

Farm Agreement:
Oakleaf Mennonite Farm agrees to provide a variety of fresh picked, seasonally-available produce, each week, over the period agreed upon. Variety and quantity of each kind of produce is at the discretion of Oakleaf Mennonite Farm based on harvest availability, which includes certain risks of drought and predation that Oakleaf Mennonite Farm will attempt to minimize or mitigate.
We commit to try our very best to ensure crop success using sustainable methods, to limit Shareholdership to manageable numbers ensuring quantity and quality for all Shareholders, to maintain open communication with our Shareholders, and to continue learning and growing in sustainable agriculture and in partnership with our Shareholder community.
We commit ourselves to using recyclable and reusable materials and working to eliminate the use of plastics as part of our larger commitment to our community and the planet.
